I want to give my son my business without charging him any upfront money. I would like to pull a small income from the business each month as a retirement. I dont want a share in the business just a guaranteed payment each month. I have been in business since 1983 and have annual average revenue of $225,000. My son has been working with me now for the past 8 years and has shown great leadership skills.
I am concerned about things like tax ramifications of not handling this properly. Our business isnt incorporated instead it is a sole proprietorship. Would it be better to incorporate and retain a share of the business while giving my son the majority? Also I have a house for sale currently but it is pre foreslosure. I have a buyer lined up and we are in the midst of negotiating the home sale. If the house were to fully be foreclosed would this affect the business and perhaps even void the business sale?

I have lots of online experiance. I have looked at many different companies that provide online dating, and casino sites built and read to run. How legit are they, and are their claims for success accurate? They average in price from $499-$12,000. I don’t have a lot of money especially to throw away in a scam. What are my best options. I’ve done ebay, and a few of the online marketing scams that don’t work. I’m billingual, English and Spanish, have a two year general degree working on my B.a in business management. I’m receptive to working with other people on a new idea that we can market online, have a few ideas myself just don’t know how to get started, can someone lead me in the right direction?

The issue of outsourcing has come up frequently. I am just curious if there is any statistical data on the number of jobs have been lost due to outsourcing. 1992 was the year that the NAFTA agreement was signed. I am starting a small business and want to know what steps I need to do to ship to international destinations like Japan, Korea, or Mexico. I read that if you dont get a business license and you run an at home based business and your neighbors dont complain about your work, its unlikey the IRS will find out and make you pay a fee as well as put your business on hold until its done. Now, in the state of FL, if I chose to not get a license because the type of business (event planning) did not require one, would I still have to pay taxes?

I have three sons, two are summer working able at 16 and 13 and my father is fairly able bodied and retireing this spring. I am trying to think of a home based business we can start that will use these three as employees.
