What is the basic definition of Outsourcing?

I don’t want any of the google or wiki definitions. Just a simple and concise definition that is hopefully in some book somewhere which tells me exactly what outsourcing is. Yes, it can hav parts to it just not the type of definitions im finding all around the internet

    Outsourcing is when a company in one country hires people in other countries to work for them. The company will do this because they don’t have to pay people in other countries as much as you would have to pay people in their own country.

    When you move your business to another location to lower your costs of production. We outsource to China, because we can produce good cheaper there.

    Outsourcing obtain goods or services from an outside supplier or to contract work out like “Many companies outsource and hire consultants in order to maintain a flexible workforce.”
